Through our research at the Delft University of Technology we have a considerable amount of experience in simulating the dynamic behavior of large collections of particles that interact with each other and their environment. These simulations can be used, among others, to study the dynamics of granular flows, analyze the structure of granular materials and optimize the composition of gravel beds. Particle dynamics simulations could also be used to study traffic flows and the dynamics of crowds in emergency situations.
